Groundswell Cafe Manager
Join Groundswell Cafe, Cedar Rapids’ only pay-it-forward cafe serving our community with dignity, hospitality, and purpose. We’re seeking a Cafe Manager who brings experience in food preparation and production, along with strong leadership and people skills. This role leads a dynamic team of paid and volunteer staff, ensuring smooth daily operations while creating a welcoming, high-quality experience for every guest.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate collaborator who values community, leads with integrity, and consistently strives for excellence. You’ll also work closely with our Catering & Events Coordinator.

Salary range: $39,000 to $48,000, commensurate with experience.

Volunteer Coordinator
This enthusiastic and organized person will be responsible for volunteer acquisition, screening, coordination, communication and recognition. This position will work with program managers to determine volunteer needs and plan projects. They will also organize large volunteer initiatives, like Transform Week and Day of Caring, and lead volunteer groups. They should be able to train, mentor, motivate, direct and empower teams. We’re looking for someone who cares about economically challenged people and neighborhoods, is friendly and personable, and has excellent planning and communication skills.
Hours per week: Average of 30
Hourly wage: $16.50 to $20.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator
Matthew 25 seeks a hard-working maintenance and property upkeep specialist to support its mission of
improving neighborhood health through quality, affordable housing and other programs. The role involves general
handyman tasks, painting, mowing, and custodial duties, requiring a high school diploma, previous
experience, and the ability to perform physical tasks like heavy lifting. This position is part-time (30
hours per week) and offers $16–$21 per hour, comprehensive benefits, and a mission-oriented work
environment.
