Safer, Healthier, and Uplifted
Transform Week
Many homeowners face challenges that prevent them from being able to complete basic home maintenance or repairs.
Matthew 25’s Transform program matches homeowners with community volunteers who can help complete home repair or landscaping projects that make both homes and neighborhoods safer, healthier, and more uplifted.
2025 Transform Week
June 23-27
In 2025, we will be focused on the Taylor and Time Check neighborhoods. The exact projects we take on will depend on what is needed in the community and the skill sets of the volunteers who sign up. Grants, donations and sponsorships allow Matthew 25 to do these home repairs at no cost to the homeowners. Contact us for more information about how to become a sponsor.
Potential Projects
- Painting or siding the outside of a home
- Window and door replacement
- Cleaning debris from a home
- Fixing plumbing or other repairs
- Porch repair or carpentry work
- Mulching, planting or enhancing a public space
- Tarping and smaller roof patching

2025 Volunteer Registration Open Until June 6!
Join us in making a significant impact on Cedar Rapids neighborhoods! Work side-by-side with other volunteers in the community for a day or the entire week.
If you would like to volunteer for Transform Week 2025, please complete our volunteer registration form. If you have DIY-level or higher skills, please indicate so on the form — this information is very helpful for us, as we match people with projects and figure out how many complex projects we can take on. But don’t worry – all skill levels are welcome! We always have some painting or landscaping projects available for people without home repair skills, and no one will be expected to do work that they are not comfortable with. Registration deadline is June 6, 2025, and this year, there is a daily cap of 150 volunteers.
For group volunteers, please have each member of your team register individually so that we have a record of emergency contact info, t-shirt size, etc.
What can I expect when I volunteer?
We’ll provide tools and safety equipment for whatever task you take on. Most workdays last from 8:30 am-3:30 pm with a break for lunch. Lunch and snacks are provided.
Note that all volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver and photo release. This is separate from the registration form. You can print the waiver and bring it with you or sign it when you arrive. Anyone under age 18 will need to have their waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Project Applications
Transform Week Applications are accepted for home maintenance and repair projects early each year. Applicants must own their home, make 80% or less than median income, and reside in the Taylor or Time Check neighborhoods of Cedar Rapids. The work is done at no cost to the homeowner thanks to volunteer work, grants and sponsorships.
2025 Transform Week project applications are closed. Check back early next year for Transform Week 2026.

Other Ways to Support Transform Week
Volunteer Lunches
We rely on churches and community organizations to provide lunch for our volunteers each day. If you would like to volunteer to prepare and serve lunch on one of the days of Transform Week, please contact us at 319-362-2214 or send us a message.
Event Volunteers
To help Transform Week run smoothly, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with event logistics and special tasks, such as taking photos, staffing the registration table, room set-up and tear-down, or hauling yard waste or garbage from job sites. Contact us if you’d like to help with a special assignment.
Sponsorships, Grants, and Donations
These contributions allow us to do these home repairs at no cost to homeowners. We accept both monetary and in-kind donations, such as building materials or snacks for our volunteers. Please contact us to donate.
