Matthew 25 Announces Leadership Transition

After 19 years of service, Clint Twedt-Ball has decided to step down from his role as executive director to pursue new opportunities

Clint Twedt-Ball

Dear Matthew 25 supporters,

It is with a mixture of joy and sadness that I share that July 15th will be my last day as Executive Director at Matthew 25. When Courtney and I started this organization in 2006, we never could have imagined the amazing things that have happened. Over the last nineteen years, we’ve gotten to know so many incredible people that care about the Cedar Rapids community. You all have worked with us through a flood, Covid, a derecho and much more. You’ve helped us open successful social enterprises, such as a tool library, the Urban Farm, Groundswell Cafe and the Cultivate Hope Corner Store, as well as to do innovative projects like building net zero housing and restoring more than a thousand homes. All of this has been done in an effort to support the most vulnerable people and neighborhoods in our community.

Many, sometimes including myself, figured I would be working at Matthew 25 until I retired. But, as scripture says, for everything there is a season, and recently I have felt a calling to explore other avenues of impact. I will share more later about the next steps in my service journey, but for now I simply want to say thank you for your trust and confidence in me and this organization. I look forward to Matthew 25 continuing to support and advocate with core neighborhoods of Cedar Rapids for many years to come. And I intend to remain a huge supporter of all the good work that will continue to happen.

Grace and peace,
Clint

A Note from the Matthew 25 Board of Directors

The board at Matthew 25 is thankful for Clint’s dedicated years of service, both to this organization and to the larger Cedar Rapids area. His passion for empowering others within the organization and out in the community through Matthew 25 programs has truly been a transformative process — especially in the Time Check Neighborhood.

As we look ahead to future leadership and service, I would like to emphasize that the core mission and programing of Matthew 25 will continue growing strong neighborhoods. Since Matthew 25’s inception in 2007, the organization has grown from 2 to 37 staff and innovative programming has been developed according to our four pillars of strong neighborhoods: Healthy Food, Quality Housing, Educational Opportunities and Community Building.

It is important to recognize that much of the work that is achieved by this organization in each of these areas is championed by the dedicated leadership team and put into action by our amazing staff. We are proud of the work we achieve as an organization. While we will miss Clint’s leadership, we are confident that Matthew 25 will continue to champion strong neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids into the future.

Sincerely,
Ryan Anderson
President, Matthew 25 Board of Directors
