Transform Week 2026: A Week for Restoring Homes, Hope, and Community
Together, We Made a Difference

During the 11th Annual Transform Week, held June 22-26, 2026, neighbors, volunteers, churches, companies, and community partners came together for one incredible week of service. Together, they demonstrated that change is more than just fixing homes. It is about restoring hope.
More than 380 volunteers finished 38 home repair and enhancement projects in Cedar Rapids’ Taylor and Time Check neighborhoods. From painting and siding to flooring, landscaping, and window and door replacement, each project had a significant impact on local homeowners and contributed to the strength of the neighborhoods we all live in.
While the numbers are impressive, the true impact of Transform Week is found in the stories of the people whose lives were changed.
“My home looks amazing!” shared homeowner Candace. “I am so grateful and thankful to each and every person involved in making these repairs and upgrades to my home!! Thank you ALL so very much!!” Because her garage is accessed from the back of her property, volunteers replaced a difficult walk across the grass with a new stone pathway, giving Candace a safer, more accessible route she’ll benefit from every day.
Homeowner Verne reflected on what the work meant to him, saying, “Since my wife passed away, I’ve been living here on my own and can’t keep up with all the home maintenance projects. Having Matthew 25 complete this work helps me continue living in my home, and I am so thankful.“
For Kristi, the repairs completed at her daughter and grandson’s home brought both relief and peace of mind. “This is truly life-changing for my daughter and grandson. My grandson uses a wheelchair, and before the repairs I constantly worried about him on the deck. Now he has a safe place to roll around and enjoy being outside without me fearing he’ll fall. I can’t thank the volunteers enough for giving our family that peace of mind.“
Another homeowner, Leanne, shared how much one simple improvement will mean to her family’s daily life. “My daughter requires 24-hour care, and because we live on a busy street, we always have to use the back door to get to our vehicle. The new railing has made that trip so much safer and easier for both of us. It’s something we’ll use every single day, and I’m so grateful to everyone who made it possible.”
Transform Week also created connections that went well beyond the initiatives themselves. Companies from across the area generously donated their time and resources to help others. A Des Moines church group spent the week volunteering, building lasting relationships with homeowners, and returning with stories of transformation that extended beyond home repairs. Members of that group were even motivated to help a fellow volunteer who was going through a financial struggle, serving as a powerful reminder that Transform Week may transform people’s lives in unexpected ways.
Matthew 25 is incredibly grateful to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, talents, and heart throughout the week. Your willingness to serve reflects the true spirit of Transform Week.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our generous sponsors and donors. With your support, every repaired step, fresh coat of paint, accessible entrance, and blooming garden bed came to life. Thanks to you, families live safe in their homes, neighbors feel seen and supported, and our community grows stronger together.
Thank you all for helping to make Transform Week 2026 a giant success.
