Celebrating 10 Years of Impact!

Transform Week 2025 Wrap-Up

Staff Group Shot

What started as an idea to help neighbors care for their homes has grown into a movement of community transformation. This June, Matthew 25 wrapped up its 10th Annual Transform Week, marking a full decade of repairing homes, restoring hope, and growing strong neighborhoods in Cedar Rapids.

This year, over 370 volunteers joined Matthew 25 to complete 38 impactful home repair projects across the Taylor and Time Check neighborhoods. From painting and siding to landscaping, flooring, and replacingTransform painting windows and doors, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make sure each project made a lasting difference for the homeowners we served.

Beyond the numbers, this year’s Transform Week was a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when people come together with purpose. Volunteers worked alongside neighbors, built new friendships, and witnessed firsthand the impact that collective action can have on individuals, families, and entire blocks.

As we reflected on 10 years of Transform Week, we realized that we’ve completed around 230 home improvement projects with the help of more than 2,300 volunteers since the program began. Each person who has contributed—whether with time, tools, or financial support—has played a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient community.

Each morning during Transform Week, Clint Twedt-Ball, Matthew 25’s founder and executive director, shared stories from the past ten years—reminders of just how powerful this initiative has beTransform Groupcome. He recounted the story of a couple who met while volunteering on a project and later got engaged at that very same job site. He also reflected on how Transform Week grew out of the community’s response to the devastating 2008 flood, when neighbors showed up for one another without hesitation—no questions asked, just a shared commitment to help however they could.
